Chapter titled ‘India-Bangladesh Relations'
The book 'Indian Foreign Policy 2008-2010' discusses Indian forein relations with various countries of the world. The chapter 'India-Bangladesh Relations' attempts to chronicle the see-saw relationship that India shares with its eastern neighbour. It encompasses the recent military, economic and political developments between the two countries in context of the ethno-religious tensions existing in the region.

Along with providing factual analyses of these conflicts, it also seeks to provide the historical context and geo-political & geo-strategic implications to the conflicts. The chapter 'Violence in Bangladesh' covers the military-sponsored violence, extrajudicial killings, terrorist activities and religion-motivated violence that occurred in Bangladesh in 2009.

Changing role of Paramilitary Forces in India (October, 2009 - )
The Project attempts to look at the identity and role of the Central Paramilitary Forces (CPF) within the new paradigm of post-cold war global security issues. Statistically, in the past ten years, the troop sizes and annual budgets of every CPF in India has gone up with the singular exception of National Security Guard. Strategically the CPFs which had a predefined role to play are now rapidly altering their scope of operation by providing a new stop-gap instrument for violence control. This development not only requires the rethinking the national security policy, but also its socio- political implications.
